The McFarland Forum is the class blog for AP Government and Politics and AP United States History. You will find stories and prompts on which you are to comment. Your comments should focus on analysis of the articles. Namely, how the articles or posts reflect the themes, topics, concepts, and content that have been covered in class.
I got out of this article that some republicans are trying to do anything to get democrats to vote against Sotomayor, while others are willing to give her a fair shot at becoming the first Latina judge. They will vote based on qualifications, not ethnicity. This country has come too far to stoop down to a level in which race is a deciding factor on whether or not a person gets a job. I think her comment about wise latinas just shows how she believed that a smart woman should get a position over a not so qualified man, which has been an issue for years in America.
